A tight construction program and last minute site changes presented us with more than one challenge here. The requirement was for a 12-story 300key, 5-star hotel with an adjacent conference and entertainment center. We used the axis radiating from the main complex gateway as a strong visual and functional corridor to the hotel entrance.

The hotel itself consists of a curved tower of three overlapping parallel layers that slim down the overall building mass. The tower sits on a podium that houses the majority of the hotel’s amenities and a large portion of the conference center. We wrapped the façade in copper to present a sculptural solution to an ordinary, functional space.

The entertainment center lies at an important junction so we needed to make it a lynchpin for the adjoining buildings. We took a simple box design, twisted it and clad it with internally lit louvers complementing, yet contrasting with, the complex cladding geometries of its neighbors.
